Israel’s Alerts – Mobile Web App Example

Alerts IL - mobile web app

If you wish to have a window on the side of your screen and/or leave your mobile device on a page that will show you an updated list of all the alerts (Tzeva Adom and others) – Here is a web app for you. It is based on Foundation CSS framework as it’s ‘mobile first ‘ and got a very powerful grid system.

Check out the Alerts-IL GitHub repo or the Google App Engine version.

If you wish to see the Android app code which is a simple native app that wrap the mobile web app.

Live Demo

The main ‘actions’ that you got in this application are:

  1. A summary of all the latest news from the main media sources in Israel (e.g. Ynet, Walla, Channel 10, Galtz etc’).
  2. The latest alerts from “Tzeva Adom” – It will pull these alerts every second from “Pikod Ha Oref” API.
  3. A twitter list I’ve created the combine all the ‘main’ reporters. It’s interesting to see how to news go there first and later we see them all over the official sites.
  4. Customize tabs that contain the latest news from Ynet, Channel 10.

write a litte more on this topic? I’d be very grateful if you could elaborate a
    little bit more. Cheers!
