Few of the best books I’ve read in the past and you might enjoy. There are in no special order, but if you love good stories start with the first and the last.
One of the best books I read in a long time. It’s an interesting story about the humankind in the last ~70,000 years and Harari does it so well, you won’t feel it’s a history book.
I like the 2nd book (Homo Deus) as well and found more things in it that I would like to discuss about with the author. I just need to find the right time and place.
This is a great book that I read during last year and wrote about it.
In a nutshell, it’s a long and very well organized one that share the thinking of Ray.
You get the background on Ray Dalio and how he arrived to where he is today. It also gives a lot of ideas on life, management and how to take decisions.
His extreme openness system sounds like something that can work only in the movies. But it seems to work well for him.
I read this one 5 years ago and wrote about it a short post. I came back to Taleb’s books again and again because they are hard but each time, I feel, I get a bit more.
As a bonus, there are many gems like: “…The best test of whether someone is extremely stupid (or extremely wise) is whether financial and political news makes sense to him.”
David and Goliath is a classic Gladwell. I also read it during 2013 and wrote a short post on the experiance.
He takes a story we thought we knew and turn it upside down in a way that make you wonder how it took us so much time to figure it out. Gladwell is not only a talented runner, he is THE master of story telling. I can’t wait to his next book(s).
Happy new year!
